How to Order an Ambulance Service Correctly?
A guide for patients and their families: what to prepare and what not to forget when booking transport.
Ordering an ambulance service may seem complicated at first glance, but it is actually a straightforward process that pays to be prepared for. Before calling, gather the basic information: the patient’s name and date of birth, the pick-up address, the destination, and the patient’s health insurance provider. This information significantly speeds up the ordering process and helps us arrange vehicles with appropriate equipment.
It is also important to tell the dispatcher whether the patient needs special vehicle adaptations, such as a wheelchair for immobile patients or a stretcher. If the patient is taking medication or requires oxygen therapy during transport, inform us in advance so we can arrange the necessary equipment. The more information you provide, the better we can adapt to the patient’s specific needs.
On the day of transport, have the patient’s health insurance card and any medical documents ready, especially if travelling to a doctor or for hospitalisation. We also recommend having the contact details of the doctor who prescribed the transport. Our dispatchers are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and are happy to answer all your questions before and after ordering the service.
